Octane
The SGS Worldwide fuel survey (WWFS) conducted in selected countries in Africa in winter 2018 and in summer 2019 shows that all the gasoline samples met the minimum octane requirements in Libya, Nigeria, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia and Zimbabwe. Incompliance rates of more than 30% were observed in Algeria, Angola, Cameroon, Gabon and Morocco, although in most cases of incompliances the measured RON were less than 1 unit below the regulated minima. The figure below shows the percentage of incompliances of RON in gasoline samples.
